Types of United India Health Insurance Plans
United India offers insurance coverage in three variations: Individual Plans, Family Health Insurance Plans and Senior Citizen Health Insurance Plans.

1: United India Insurance Family Medicare Policy - This is United India’s most popular insurance plan. It is one of the most subscribed products for families that are growing and is popular due to its floater benefits.

2: United India Insurance Family Medicare 2014 Policy – This policy is a different version of the Family Medicare policy. The aim of both the plans remains the same, with the only difference being in available sum insured.

3: United India Insurance Gold Policy – This plan provides hospitalisation and other related coverage at low sum insured for those aged between 36-60 years.

4: United India Insurance Individual Mediclaim Policy – This plan caters to individuals instead of offering coverage for floaters and provides flexibility to the insured person.

5: United India Insurance Platinum Policy - This unique plan affordability to younger generation below 35 years and provides options to cover dependent children as well.

6: United India Insurance Senior Citizen Plan – This policy works to provide coverage against illnesses and ailments normally faced by senior citizens.

1: United India Insurance Family Medicare Policy

  • In-patient Hospitalization - Room, Boarding and Nursing expenses at 1% of the sum insured. ICU expenses not exceeding 2% of SI.
  • Pre Hospitalisation – Expenses incurred for a particular illness for upto 30 days leading to hospitalisation will be covered. Max limit upto 10% of SI.
  • Post Hospitalization - Expenses incurred for a particular illness for upto 60 days post hospitalisation for the same illness, will be covered. Max limit upto 10% of SI.
  • Day care treatment – day care procedures requiring less than 24 hours of admission will be covered, as long as they are specified.
  • AYUSH Treatment – Alternate health treatments undertaken in a Government Hospital or in any Institute recognized by the Government will be covered.
  • Ambulance Cover - Additional premium payable Rs.100 for cover up to Rs.2,500. This is a add on cover.
  • Daily Cash Allowance - Additional premium payable Rs.150 for cover up to Rs.2,500 or Rs.300 for cover up to Rs.5,000. This is a add on cover.
  • Organ donor expenses – Hospitalisation expenses incurred when the insured person becomes an organ donor will be covered.

2.What are the details to be provided at the time of intimation of claim?
Following are the information required at the time of intimation:
  1. Health card
  2. Duly filled claim form
  3. Doctor's consultation papers
  4. Investigation reports (e.g. X-ray, scans, blood report, etc.)
  5. Pharmacy invoices supported by respective prescriptions

3.Are my existing diseases covered?
Existing diseases covered after 48 months of continuous coverage with United India. There are exceptions in illness specific policies like policies designed for diabetic patients, cancer patients, HIV positive patients etc

4.Does health insurance cover diagnostic charges like X- ray, MRI or ultrasound?
All diagnostic charges like X- ray, MRI, blood tests etc are covered if they are in relation to hospitalisation for at least 24 hours.

5.Is a medical check-up necessary before buying a Health policy?
Medical check-up is necessary for persons aged 50 years and above.

6.What is the maximum number of claims allowed during the year?
Unlimited number of claims is allowed during the year up to the maximum exhaustion of sum insured.

7.How to claim for pre and post hospitalization?
The claim documents for pre and post hospitalization should be submitted within a specific number of days of completion of treatment or period. Post hospitalisation expenses capped at 7% of sum insured upto a maximum of Rs. 5 lacs.

8.Does any health policy cover expenses on outpatient treatment also?
Usually policies cover only in-patient treatment but the United India Health Gain policy covers out-patient treatments.

9: Are cashless claims available across India for TATA AIG health insurance?
Cashless claims facility is available at over 3000+ Network hospitals across India.

Can foreigners avail policy or is it restricted to Indian nationals?
Foreigners living in India can avail policy but the coverage will be limited to India.

10.Does the list of hospitals remain the same?
The list of hospitals may or may not change and United India Health Insurance reserves the right to modify, add or restrict any network hospital for cashless services available under the policy.
