Iffco Tokio General Insurance was founded in the year 2009 and is a joint venture between Tokio Marine, Nichido Fire Group (Japan’s biggest listed insurance group) and Indian Farmers Fertilizer Co-Operative. The company has more than 171 Lateral Spread Centres and 400 Bima Kendras in the country along with 78 Strategic Business Units. There are several customized insurance products offered by the company to customers and its Gross Written Premiums (GWP) touched Rs. 3537.2 crore for 2015-16.

There are some natural inclusions in Iffco Tokio Two Wheeler Insurance plans. These include the following:
- Loss/Damage due to earthquake/fire/cyclone/flood
- Loss/Damage due to manmade calamities (theft/riot/malicious damage/strike/transit based damage)
- Loss/Damage due to natural calamities (landslide/explosion/frost/hailstorm/lightning/storm/tempest)
The list of exclusions covers the following aspects:
- Damage due to driving under influence of drugs/alcohol
- Loss/damage/legal liability outside policy’s geographical area
- Claims arising from contractual liability
- Usage beyond limitations of usage
- Damage due to nuclear waste/weapons/war/rebellion
- Loss/damage when vehicle is driven by another person other than driver specified in driver clause
- Immediate reporting to insurer
- Accident involving third parties to be reported to police

- Vehicle to be inspected on spot prior to shifting to workshop
- Repair estimates to be prepared
- Claim form and estimates to be furnished prior to detailed inspection & assessment of cost
